So my exitement for my new position has been tempered greatly by nostalgia of leaving my current job. Looking ahead, I will be gaining new colleagues, experiences & knowledge, but I’ll be leaving alot behind as well.
I started my job in the training department in 2004. I was combing monster.com and just stumbled on it. On a lark, I applied and got the position. I still remember the presentation I gave and the questions that were asked when I was interviewed. After my interview, I left the offices feeling ambivalent about the whole thing; I definitely did not feel like I knocked it out of the park. But I got the job and began what would turn into a seven-year career.
I am so thankful to the department I am leaving, to the colleagues who helped me, to the experiences that I had, to projects I was able to contribute to.
Each task that I complete this week comes with the sobering thought, “this is the last time I will be doing this as a trainer”. So it’s hard not to get all goopy inside and look back on the changes and events I was a part of.
